Some indie music video are set in house, or different places around in the house.	Some indie music video have a very low budget, and are set outside because it is very cost effective and free to use in some areas such as parks.	Also set outside, and many indie video use a lot of green space.

CONVENTIONS OF INDIE SETTINGS

Indie music videos are known to be quite low budget, the main settings of the video are in the studios, cities, parks and in tunnels etc. These are places places which can be accessed easily and they can create a very mysteries. The setting are kept simple because it is typical of indie rock music video to focus more on the artist/ performance.

MISE-EN-SCENE OF INDIE SETTINGS

A lot of indie artist often have retro looks and this can be created though the sets, props and also their own appearance themselves.	Props can change the look of a video completely.
For example the use of props used in Lana Del Rey's music video National Anthem we can see her posing around her glamorous and expensive house. This highlights that the charter she is playing is wealthy and well respected.	Costumes give people their identity and set them apart from the rest. A good example is Lady Gaga whose known is known for her elaborate choice in clothing.	In the video telephone we know she wears a hate a build in phone and this reinforces the message that's in her video. As this was a memorable look, people now remember that video because of her appereance
Make is also important as it can give use an indication as the which era the video is meant to be set in.	Poloma Faith has very subtle makeup in her videos with a pale face and red lipstick and this highlights that her music and her video is similar to that look from the 50's.

In this music video it subverts the conventions of using live performance, as it is very common for artists in the indie rock genre to do live performance for their music video.

This music video subverts/ conforms to the idea of sing narrative, becase this music video in some way tells a story but to some viewers they story may not be clear.

This video does not promote the use of props, the main focus is on the female protagonist and her two sides/lifes.
